There is a quiet duality many of us learn to live with.
During the day, I worked in compliance, building order and structure.
While at night, I searched for clothes that helped me feel like myself again while I healed from surgery. I needed pieces that honored my body, supported my abdominal binder, and still let me step into the world with confidence and beauty. I wanted comfort in motion and confidence in recovery. I wanted dignity.
I learned that women across many journeys face the same challenge.
Women healing from hysterectomies.
Women recovering from fibroid surgeries.
Mothers navigating C-sections.
Women with ports.
Women choosing cosmetic procedures.
Women who want to feel covered, supported, and seen.
The heart of this line is personal. It is about restoring confidence when the body is tender. It is beauty that respects recovery and clothing that moves with you, reminding you that healing never erases elegance.
Today, I am grateful to share the launch of Ubora Designs.
Thank you, God, for the grace of new beginnings. Thank you that no one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame (Psalm 25:3).
Thank you to my family, friends, and colleagues for the support and gentle pushes along the way.
Thank you to Tom Bilyeu and Delia Peterson for building a community that gave me the structure to set up my ventures.
Thank you to a trusted sounding board who prefers to stay private, for the practical feedback that helped me refine my ideas when doubt crept in.
Thank you to Brandy Apostol for her steady kindness and for regularly sharing opportunities with our book club, SoBookedUp. The chance to compete for this prize grew from one of those thoughtful opportunities.
Thank you, Alexis Ferguson, of Bosses in Heels, for sowing the first financial seed and for shaping this line behind the scenes.
Thank you, Elaine Mensah, of Showroom Etc. for elevating my branding with trust, lots of patience, and thoughtful redirection. Thank you for believing in the vision.
Thank you, Ivy Tettegah of iLORM, for the seamless production, the direction, for going above what was required, and for treating this line with care and dedication. Thank you for believing in the vision.
As part of this work, a portion of all proceeds from sales will be donated to provide sanitary products for homeless women throughout Florida, ensuring dignity and essential care for some of our most vulnerable community members.
Healing should be met with dignity for every woman, not just those with easy access to it.
Thank you for holding space for this new chapter and for supporting a line built with care, tradition, and hope for women in recovery.
Excited to host the first trunk show on December 13th!
